Science Fair Meltdown

I hate science fair projects. There, I said it...I hate, loathe, despise, abhor them!!! Can you tell that's what we're doing in our house right now?? Bleh!!!

I nixed the egg & salt idea...just had no desire to turn my kitchen into a lab this time around. So we (meaning me) chose an "easy" one. A math probability project...sounds easy enough, right? All we had to do was come up with 5-10 groups of 23 or more people in them and take a poll of when their birthdays are and see if the Birthday Paradox holds true. Basically see if anyone in a particular group has the same birthday, not year just day. Again, easy right? We decide that Brooklyn will RANDOMLY (apparently we need to work on her definition of random as well) choose 23 people from each of our Facebook pages and use that....about halfway through yesterday she lost her ever living mind!!! Full on temper tantrum....yelling, screaming, crying, the whole works. I left. Yup...just picked myself up, closed her door, told John I was going to get his moms dogs and do a few other errands and left. As I closed the front door I could hear her screaming...I continued on my way and didn't look back!

When I returned, almost 3 hours later (thank goodness for traffic) she was fast asleep. We had to go to Jordans soccer scrimmage so I woke her up, forbade her from going to her own practice and told her that for the next 2 weeks she is grounded...no computer, no friends over, no going anywhere fun...NOTHIN!!!! I felt like a parent who stood her ground! :D

Yeah....and we still have to finish this stupid project!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Year, New....?????

I have been enjoying my 3 week vacation, I need to hit the lotto....I could get used to staying home!

Christmas break started out a bit stressful, it took forever to get caught up with our finances this Fall and I was so afraid that Christmas morning would find us without a tree or any gifts....not such a great feeling! Thankfully one of Brooklyns teammates ended up with an extra tree (her older sister brought one to thier house after her mom already bought one) and she gave it to us! I was so thankful! One of my oldest friends knew we had a tough year finacially and ended up with $200 given to her to gift to someone and she chose us! I was so humbled and grateful and thankful and I vowed to give more and pay it forward more than I thought that I do already! I was truly blessed and am still in awe of the kindness of people and how incredibly blessed I am to be surrounded by such great people!

The girls and I have been spending a lot of time together this vacation and I am so glad for the time, they are growing so fast. Sydney doesn't want to grow up, she keeps telling us that she refuses get older...lol! Jordan, on the other hand, wants to grow up too fast! *sigh* Brooklyn is just Brooklyn....I truly hope I survive my last 2 children!!!

Next week we go back to our crazy, over scheduled lives, I know one day I will look back and miss being so incredibly busy, but right now sheesh! I sure have been enjoying vacation!!!

Busy weekend

Happy 4th of July weekend! I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend! Our schedule is jam packed!

Jordan and Brooklyn have their annual 4th of July Tournament that their club hosts, that means at LEAST 6 games for us, more if they make it to Championships! I have to be at the field by 7 to help with a booth for Brooklyns team, I will be working 5 hours this weekend, but the money earned will go straight to Brooklyns dues, yay!

Sydney is leaving for Las Vegas for dance Nationals on Sunday. She is going with a friend, I hate not being able to see her dance, but we just don't have the money for me to go this year :( She will be gone almost a week, I just got her back from Hawaii and she is off again! Ahhh to be young again!

We are thinking of going to the drive in on Sunday night, but Syd is sad she won't be here to go, so we may postpone that and head over to a friends house to go swimming, it is supposed to be over 100 all weekend, YUCK!

Still not sure what we are doing on Monday, waiting on my MIL to finalize plans. I;m thinking we will end up at her house, bbq and go swimming? Sounds good to me!

Happy 4th everyone!

Summertime.....

WOW!!! Summer has hit that's for sure! It had beenso nice and conmfortable....until yesterday, now it's hot and miserable! BLAH!

Lots of things going on around here! Sydney left for her Hawaii trip this morning, they should be landing in Maui in about 3 hours...I have been on pins and needles all day! She went with her Girl Scout troop and they have been raising money for the past 2 years....that's a lot of cookies!! They will be gone for a week, with lots of fun things to do while they are there! They are going snorkeling, taking The Road to Hana, riding bikes down the side of a volcano, going to a Luau and lots and lots of beach time! I miss her already, but know this is going to have such a lasting impression on her!

Jordan and Brooklyn are keeping busy with friends and soccer practice and tournaments as well. Brooklyn has had 2 tournaments the past 2 weekends, lots of driving! They did ok, still need lots of work, but they are coming along nicely. Jordans team won their tournamnet in Vegas over Memorial Day weekend, she was so excited! They both have a tournament over 4th of July weekend, but thankfully it is at our home fields....yippeee!

I may have a babysitting opportunity for the Summer, for about $100 a week, I will take it, it's just for a few hours a day, but extra money is extra money! Hopefully it all works out!

Well, I'm off to sweat out the rest of the day and get dinner going as well....grilling is the word of the week!

Trying to keep focus!

What a roller coaster! On March 28 I was in a car accidnet on my way to work...I will be ok, still off work with back and shoulder pain but pretty sure the van is a total loss.

Yes you read that right, pretty sure because it hasn't been assesed yet....UGH! The insurance company took its sweet time getting to the tow yard , computer problems and just general excuses in why it was taking so long. So fast forward to April 12...the adjuster calls me to tell me he went to check out the van only to find out that the finance company REPOSSESED IT!!! Why you ask....your guess is as good as mine! We aren't behind in payments, the insurance was trying to assess it and the only answer I'm getting from the finance company is they are "trying to protect their investment" I swear if I hear that phrase one more time in my lifetime I am going to scream! So now here we are stuck in the middle....we pay our premiums and our car note and no one knows who to blame, and we are getting screwed in the end!

I do have to say that all through this John has been a rock! I am so thankful that I have him to lean on and that he is able to keep a cool head when speaking to these idiots, because I have a tendancy to get...ummm...a bit ghetto! LOL! I just want to know who dropped the ball and where so we can go to that point and fix things, but everyone is so worried about passing the buck that it looks like nothing is going to be fixed easily!

So I am just taking it one day at a time, some days an hour at a time! That is all I can do and I know it will get taken care of somehow!
