Busy weekend

Happy 4th of July weekend! I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend! Our schedule is jam packed!

Jordan and Brooklyn have their annual 4th of July Tournament that their club hosts, that means at LEAST 6 games for us, more if they make it to Championships! I have to be at the field by 7 to help with a booth for Brooklyns team, I will be working 5 hours this weekend, but the money earned will go straight to Brooklyns dues, yay!

Sydney is leaving for Las Vegas for dance Nationals on Sunday. She is going with a friend, I hate not being able to see her dance, but we just don't have the money for me to go this year :( She will be gone almost a week, I just got her back from Hawaii and she is off again! Ahhh to be young again!

We are thinking of going to the drive in on Sunday night, but Syd is sad she won't be here to go, so we may postpone that and head over to a friends house to go swimming, it is supposed to be over 100 all weekend, YUCK!

Still not sure what we are doing on Monday, waiting on my MIL to finalize plans. I;m thinking we will end up at her house, bbq and go swimming? Sounds good to me!

Happy 4th everyone!

Summertime.....

WOW!!! Summer has hit that's for sure! It had beenso nice and conmfortable....until yesterday, now it's hot and miserable! BLAH!

Lots of things going on around here! Sydney left for her Hawaii trip this morning, they should be landing in Maui in about 3 hours...I have been on pins and needles all day! She went with her Girl Scout troop and they have been raising money for the past 2 years....that's a lot of cookies!! They will be gone for a week, with lots of fun things to do while they are there! They are going snorkeling, taking The Road to Hana, riding bikes down the side of a volcano, going to a Luau and lots and lots of beach time! I miss her already, but know this is going to have such a lasting impression on her!

Jordan and Brooklyn are keeping busy with friends and soccer practice and tournaments as well. Brooklyn has had 2 tournaments the past 2 weekends, lots of driving! They did ok, still need lots of work, but they are coming along nicely. Jordans team won their tournamnet in Vegas over Memorial Day weekend, she was so excited! They both have a tournament over 4th of July weekend, but thankfully it is at our home fields....yippeee!

I may have a babysitting opportunity for the Summer, for about $100 a week, I will take it, it's just for a few hours a day, but extra money is extra money! Hopefully it all works out!

Well, I'm off to sweat out the rest of the day and get dinner going as well....grilling is the word of the week!

Trying to keep focus!

What a roller coaster! On March 28 I was in a car accidnet on my way to work...I will be ok, still off work with back and shoulder pain but pretty sure the van is a total loss.

Yes you read that right, pretty sure because it hasn't been assesed yet....UGH! The insurance company took its sweet time getting to the tow yard , computer problems and just general excuses in why it was taking so long. So fast forward to April 12...the adjuster calls me to tell me he went to check out the van only to find out that the finance company REPOSSESED IT!!! Why you ask....your guess is as good as mine! We aren't behind in payments, the insurance was trying to assess it and the only answer I'm getting from the finance company is they are "trying to protect their investment" I swear if I hear that phrase one more time in my lifetime I am going to scream! So now here we are stuck in the middle....we pay our premiums and our car note and no one knows who to blame, and we are getting screwed in the end!

I do have to say that all through this John has been a rock! I am so thankful that I have him to lean on and that he is able to keep a cool head when speaking to these idiots, because I have a tendancy to get...ummm...a bit ghetto! LOL! I just want to know who dropped the ball and where so we can go to that point and fix things, but everyone is so worried about passing the buck that it looks like nothing is going to be fixed easily!

So I am just taking it one day at a time, some days an hour at a time! That is all I can do and I know it will get taken care of somehow!

I could get used to this!

Ahhhh! I have so enjoyed my Spring Break! Not having to be anywhere until the afternoon has been a much enjoyed treat! The girls have been enjoying their time off too. Last week the weather was much more condusive to what I had planned, but hey, time off is time off right?!

Saturday I had to be in Escondido at 7 am.....have I mentioned I don't like getting up early??? Sydney had a dance competition and by some miracle she had them all in the morning and we were home by 4!!!! Unheard of, but I was happy! Tired, but happy! Sunday Jordan was supposed to have a soccer game, but it got cancelled due to impending rain....and rain it did!! Brooklyn went to a Galaxy game, where David Beckham winked at her, the highlight of her life as she says! She came home soaking wet and has been battling asthma ever since :(

I haven't gotten as far as I would like with the house, but honestly I never will!! I have, however been hanging out with the girls and playing with the puppies, that is a successful way to spend time off anyway, right??

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Spring Cleaning

It is that time of year to throw open the doors and windows and let Spring in! That is, as long as its not still storming where you are! Since we are on Spring Break for the next 2 weeks it is going to be a very busy time for the Wells Clan! :) While I'm sure the girls had visions of sleeping in and lounging their days away that is not what mama has envisioned!!! Let the cleaning & purging begin!!!

We let the puppies outside over the weekend and they did beautifully! So that is where they spend their days while they still sleep in the garage at night. It has made cleaning up after them so much easier! Saturday John and I used the Shop Vac in the garage and boy did that help!! John and Jordan also worked on the front yard, which looks fabulous! I worked on the GINORMOUS heap of laundry, and made a small dent! Afterwards the 3 of us went to Hometown Buffet to celebrate Jordans birthday sans her sisters (they were at a dance party and a Girl Scout event), it was nice to spend time with her on her own. :)

Yesterday was spent working on more laundry and then the regular dance and soccer schedule got in the way! Haha! So today I am cleaning out the front living room/dining room and am going to shampoo the rug...it really needs it!

So I'm off! Enjoy your Tuesday!

Spring has sprung!

Last week we were cold and rainy, this week it has been warm and sunny....and smoggy today :( I've been sneezing and coughing, my eyes are watery and my head feels like it could explode at any moment....yup its Springtime in SoCal!!! Lol!

Tomorrow is our last day of work/school and then we get a 2 week Spring Break!! So excited about this! No pressure to have to be anywhere, no driving a million and one places and sleep oh sweet sleep!!! I'm looking forward to getting the tomato plants started and maybe buying some other plants to get going in the planter boxes. I also need to get some flowers for my hanging baskets out back, it will be nice to see some color back there! John and I are also going to get to work in that backyard and tackle some of those trees, they need to be pruned back desperately! Maybe we will even fire up the grill for the first time this year :)

Just one more day until a couple weeks of "freedom"!!! I can do it, I know I can!!!

Cannot wait!!

So Johns car has been down off and on for almost 2 years, which leaves me to be the one driving everyone around, including taking him to and from work and odd hours. I am in desperate need of some serious sleep! We thought we had the problem fixed last year, yeah that didn't work out so well! They guy only half fixed it, which really meant he just made it worse!!! Ugh! So with our taxes this year we had to get him a rebuilt engine! it has been almost 2 weeks and I'm hoping that it will be done soon, it will be so very nice to not have to take him to work @ 10:30 at night, ot pick him up at 1 AM if he works overtime....sure we could have used the money to pay bills or take the girls to Disneyland, but just thinking that I can actually RELAX at night is so much better!!!

Happy Fat Tuesday!!!

Finally...a minute to breathe!

Good Saturday morning! It is gorgeous here today, supposed to be near 80! I am much more of a cool weather person, but the warm sun feel fantastic this morning! The nice weather in combination of having a very laid back day is just what I needed :)

I'm sitting in front of the school waiting for Jordan to get out of Saturday School. Now, this is not the Sat School I remember growing up! If I would have had to go to Sat School I'm positive my mom would have been quite upset with me! This, however, is something different. The school is giving kids who may have missed a day or two to make it up and basically erasing that absence! The school benefits too of course, they get $15 for each child that makes up the missed day, so its a win win! And with state testing coming up its a good thing. Jordan was hoping to get her weekend homework done this morning, that would be nice!

After Sydney & I dropped Jordan off we headed to Wal Mart, not my favorite place since they don't support Unions, but sometimes you just have to go where the prices are a bit better! I got a lot of my shopping done before dropping Syd off at dance. Then I hit the new Goodwill store, I picked up a shirt for Syd or Brooklyn, whoever wants it, and some cereal bowls, both for $8 :) then I hit the grocery store and stocked up on the good deals (6 packs of small gatorade bottles for $1.99!!) I grabbed a breakfast burrito and am now waiting for Jordan to be done. The birds are singing, I just heard an owl (!!!) The snow covered mountains look beautiful, especially since there isn't any ugly smog!!! Big bonus! I just got to chat with the girls 2nd grade teacher...seriously one of the BEST teacher placed on this earth!!! God gave her a gift to work with kids and my girls were blessed to have her as a teacher!

John will go to work this afternoon while the girls and I clean the house, it is such a mess! Since Syd and I were gone at a dance convention last weekend nothing really got done, and these cute little monster puppies are destroying the garage, so we will be in there as well.

Tomorrow is church, Jordan has a game and Sydney has a cookie booth for Girl Scouts, not too shabby of a day! One more week until the girls and I are off for 2 weeks for Spring Break...whoo hoo!!!!

Enjoy the day!!

So busy!!

What a weekend! Ok who am I kidding??? What a busy few weeks/months this has been! Jordan and Brooklyn both had a soccer tournament last weekend and Jordan made it to the semi finals today. They did awesome! They went up against a Silver Elite team and gave them a run for their money! Jordan learned what she needs to work on and she didn't back down at all! We are very proud of her and the effort she showed today! Now on to Spring League for Jordan and tournaments for Brooklyn!

Sydneys competition season starts next weekend with a convention/comp. It is going to be a long weekend! But I know she will learn so much and will be so worth it!

In addition to soccer and dance craziness we are also smack dab in the middle of cookie sales for Girl Scouts! Sydney is trying to raise enough money to go to Hawaii with her troop this Summer so she is working as many booths as she can....and I sat with some of the girls in the pouring freezing cold rain last night and the chilly air tonight...I am still trying to thaw out! But, again, so worth it!

Boy am I ready for Spring Break! 3 more weeks until I have 2 glorious weeks off! :) so excited to just do a bunch of nothing!

what a month!!!

Between puppies being born (Ruby had 6 adorable little adorable monsters! 4 boys and 2 girls), soccer starting back up, Sydney going to dance conventions and now Jordan getting herself into trouble it has been a long few weeks!! I am so beyond ready for Spring Break!!!!!

Good Monday Morning!

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness;only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only Love can do that"
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

I love this quote! With what is going on in our country right now I thought it was fitting for the day. Hope you have a great Monday!

Semi lazy day

I slept in until 7:30, yay! Felt good! I did have to take Sydney to dance and then took Jordan to Payless to grab some running shoes and then off to soccer practice. Brooklyn & I ran to Stater Brothers to get the grocery shopping out of the way. We put it all away and then picked Jordan up, and are now at home....with nothing else to do for the rest of the day! How can that be??!! Yippeeee!!!

John and I are watching football, Sydney should be home in a little bit from dance and we have movies to watch later. These low key weekends don't come along very often, but when they do I relish them!!! Boring for some I'm sure, but for a family like us with crazy schedules it is an amazing feeling to not HAVE to be anywhere! :)

Happy Saturday!!

Slow season

John told me today his company is supposed to lay off 23 people this week, thankfully he should be safe this time, but he may lose his shift for another crappy one, but hey, a shift is a shift! It most likely means that the OT he has been getting will dry up and I will have to tweak the already tight budget yet again :( we will pill through this just like we have pulled through everything else buy tightening our belts....again!

Here we go!

It must be the first day back to school....Brooklyn was up and READY by 6:45!!! That child is so hard to get up and moving, most mornings I am literally dragging her out of bed! Ha!

All 3 girls were excited to get back to school...but not to learn, oh no, they were all most excited to show off their new clothes!!! Yup, they are mine, they may not look like me (apparantly I was just the incubator!!!) but the fact that they want to show off their new "stuff" is soooo me at their ages! :)

Sydney was happy because we got to school a little early for her, so she was able to chat with her friends a bit before class...such a teenager! Jordan was very excited to see her friends as well and Brookie just wanted to be first to the ball wall! I, on the other hand, am sitting in front of work waiting until the last minute before dragging myself in there to start my workday....is it 4 o'clock yet???

Back to the daily grind!

Ahhhh, after enjoying our 3 weeks off the girls and I are headed back to work & school tomorrow. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the slower pace these past few weeks. Sure there were times I was ready to run out of the house because of the girls bickering, but most of the time it was nice to relax! Lol!

We had time to actually clean the house the right way :) as well as just sit in the evenings and hang out together playing games, watching movies, etc. Dd3 loves to bake and helped me make lots of goodies for the holidays. Dd1 made some extra money by babysitting one of my friends little girls (she made $100 for 4 days! And then another $30 for helping my MIL!!). Dd2 did miss her friends and really REALLY missed not having soccer practice, but she got out there on the days it wasn't raining and kicked that ball against the wall out front.....over and over and over...LOL!

John had to work the whole time we were off, so he didn't get to hang out as much as we would have liked, but hey, someone had to bring the money in, right! ;) he and I did get to sneak off to watch a movie by ourselves this past weekend. We saw The Fighter....excellent movie! We are still talking about it 2 days later!

During our time off we had to deal with crazy rain storms here in the Southern Ca area. Near my MILs house is where a lot of damage was, there are still tons of sandbags around the neighborhood and some people are still not allowed into their homes!

For our last day of vacation the girls and I cleaned the house up, did laundry and made yet another trip to the mall so Sydney & Jordan could spend more of their money! They each got more clothes and shoes...apparantly they can't have too many! :)

So now we are all climbing into bed to get our rest for what I'm sure will be a long and tiring day!
